Swainton - The county's Open Space preservation program exists in name only. When was the last time it preserved even one acre of open space? All of the open space preservation funds are going towards everything except actual open space. It's a slush fund for every mayor to dip into to fund unnecessary projects. We never wanted the open space fund to fund bike paths, piers, historical monuments, athletic fields, etc. Get back to preserving real open space! Contact landowners again that tried to preserve their land but were rejected. Make preserving open space a priority again.
