The Viet Cong and NVA forces launched what they considered the general offense, but what we have come to know as the "Tet Offensive." It was a resounding military failure for the NVA and VC, but they won a momentous public relations victory that set us on a course to lose almost all popular support for the war at home. Everyone now is so quick to say, "Thank you for your service," but they forget what that service entailed.
