I was stuck in traffic on the Tappan Zee Bridge going east. I looked down the Hudson and could see one of the Towers burning with black smoke rising. It was about 15 miles away but the day was so sunny and bright. By the time I got to work it was on the news that the towers had collapsed. Going home that evening people were standing on the shoulder of the Thruway with candles. The following morning I looked down the Hudson again and it was an empty void. God Bless those people who perished that day.
