It is both shocking and confusing to see Republicans in the Senate berate Dr. Anthony Fauci. As a physician practicing during the early days of the AIDS epidemic, I couldn’t wait for Dr. Fauci to publish his newest article in the New England Journal of Medicine to help guide us in diagnosis and treatment. He followed the principles of scientific research; gather the facts to try to draw valid assumptions. This is the same process that has produced many amazing advances in medicine. This whole thing is political theater. In my mind he’s a great physician scientist.
