Why do you think these laws were passed in the first place? Because shameful things were happening. There WAS voter discrimination, so they passed the Voting Rights Act. There WERE children being neglected in dangerous situations, so they passed the Child Care Licensing Acts. The Army and Navy WERE being decimated by illness, so they passed regulations that had them all receive flu shots. These laws and policies weren’t just thrown into place. They arose to address awful situations that were preventable. This really feels like the dumbing down of our country.
