RE: the Herald editorial on rising cost of teacher health benefits. (Part 1) The private sector pays better, so w/o good benefits you will see a scarcity of talent in the classroom. Is that what we want? Anyone who thinks teaching is easy ought to give it a try. Already a huge # of young teachers bolt after a couple of years. It’s a no brainer that PUBLIC employees will be funded by THE PUBLIC. See part 2 regarding addressing the cost problem.
