It’s disappointing to see opposition in Stone Harbor to granting a liquor license to the American Legion. It raises an important question about fairness and priorities in our community. We seem willing to support liquor licenses for private, affluent institutions like the Yacht Club and Union League Backyard—yet hesitate when it comes to an organization built to serve those who have served our country. The American Legion is not just another venue. It’s a gathering place for veterans to share their stories.
