People talk about nepotism regarding police, fire and teachers. In many families those jobs are a family tradition. Grandfather was a fireman, dad was a fireman etc. I guess if nepotism is real and a problem than if you want to follow your family tradition you would have to move away from the area? If dad was a cop his children are disqualified from that job. That sounds fair.
