This is what o do with key fob spare. I take the physical key out of fob. I attach somewhere not obvious...not a wheel well or behind plate.I wrap the remote part in tin foil and put in glove compartment, so no detection.The whole remote would get damaged with road debris in a wheel well and if it is too close, like under the hood, the doors won't lock, because it is detected.
