In the PDK International poll 2022 public attitudes toward public schools, 62% of survey respondents said they would not want their child to be a teacher. This is the highest number of people to say teaching isn't a good profession in the poll's history. Data from the survey reflect the reasons being school attacks, poor pay & benefits, stress & demands of the job, lack of support & respect, and debates over sex, race, and gender. Teaching is difficult and parents don't want their children to put up with the challenges of a teaching career for so little in return!
