This past Saturday evening I attended the flag ceremony at Sunset Beach. This was my second visit to the event and I've found it to be a very respectfully conducted ceremony. I was especially impressed that everyone on the beach showed a respectful silence as the colors were lowered. However this Saturday just as the announcer began the ceremony a small plane towing an advertising banner passed by on the bay. The plane then proceeded to make several more passes by Sunset beach during the event. The plane's engine noise disrupted the solemnity of the ceremony.
