Wildwood Crest

There's talk of increasing the gas tax. Is there a way that we could increase the tax as the price of gas falls? So if a baseline price were set; e.g. $1.80/gal., if gas goes down 5 cents/gal., the tax would go up 1 cent. If it goes down 10 cents, the tax goes up 2 cents. Consumers would still benefit from dropping prices and the tax increase would be more palatable. As prices increase, less tax burden would be felt when you fill up. I realize it doesn't work if gas prices exceed the baseline. I'd rather pay more in taxes and eliminate tolls. So much of what's collected goes to toll takers.
