Ocean City

In an online comment, someone remarked that "tourism is not an economic winner and yes, it is propped up by sand replenishment, low-cost flood insurance, and use of cheap workers from Europe." How true. However, since there is no viable alternative, and since our situation is not likely to change, it is far more intelligent to accept fact that tourism is really all we have to provide an economic base for our population. We should learn how to manage it to be the most productive and profitable, instead of whining about beach replenishment. Nobody loves tourism, but it is our reality.
