The County's open space preservation program has been completely corrupted by the freeholders. Land owners that actually want to preserve their land are being rejected and told to contact the Nature Conservancy or Green Acres. Yet every other ridiculous project such as bike paths, boat ramps, athletic fields, tiny barrier island lots, etc. receive instant approvals. It is clear that the freeholders have little interest in preserving actual open space. Voters wanted their open space taxes to be used to preserve open space.
