As a tourist destination, Wildwood needs to crack down on rental property owners, many of whom are out of towners, with tenants placed by social services agencies. The most effective, tried and proven, way is through strict housing code enforcement, with timely follow-ups. While city leaders claim they do this, residents know there is little follow up by code inspectors. All the tourism ads are a waste if visitors here feel unsafe.
