Gallup polling is showing a strong uptick among Americans for stricter gun laws, although they would oppose an outright ban on gun sales. Parents and most colleges themselves oppose armed students or instructors on campus, so the argument that all the recent school shootings would have been avoided by people with guns is, at best, weak. We are the only developed nation with so much gun violence in our schools.
