Weeks before Labor Day and the streets are already empty. Since when did the 'shoulder season' start in mid-August? How can merchants and restaurants survive on a six-week season? The Delaware beaches and Ocean City, Md. continue to be packed until late September. Maybe Wildwood should learn something from them and market their beach so people know it doesn't close for the year Aug. 15.
