The chief of police has a salary of over $75,000 plus benefits, and accrued payable sick pay of over $30,000. The chief has a police vehicle, does not patrol and supervises a force of only six officers. We uniform, train and equip officers that last here, at times, for just a few months. Contrary to what the public thinks, service would not be diminished in consolidation, it would actually improve service and supervision.
