I'm tired of elitist barrier island residents telling us that we have to support tourism and beach replenishment because our economy depends on it. No, not all of us have jobs that are dependent on tourism, not even indirectly. This area doesn't have to have a tourism-based economy. Pumping sand on the beach repeatedly just to have it wash away repeatedly is stupid and a waste of tax dollars! Live near the ocean at your own risk and expense!
