One opossum can rid your yard of up to five thousand ticks a season, and consume grubs and other garden pests. The little marsupials do not search through the grass for ticks like Guinea hens, rather because of their extreme grooming, they find and eat the ticks that cling on them. Not only are they good tickers, but their low body temperature does not make them good hosts for rabies. Plus, they have cute little pink toes! Viva les opossums!
