Police officer jobs are just like a business. It is supply and demand. Right now, every 18-year-old wants to be a cop and there are not enough jobs to go around. The towns know this and they work for peanuts, or they don't get or take the job. I agree, a garbage person would be a better choice. Better hours, less paperwork, no headaches.
