I greatly respect the work done by our public servants in the police and fire depts. However, twice in the last week, I have nearly been involved in accidents with emergency vehicles, which didn't have their sirens on. Both times, they put the sirens on only as they approached the intersection. I always pull over as required, but I didn't know the vehicles were there until the last second, and I didn't have time to react. These vehicles are equipped with sirens for a reason. I know the sound must give them a headache but it's better than causing an accident. Could a reminder be issued to them?
