Bravo to the Stone Harbor DPW workers, the mayor and the council for taking the initiative to allow employees to be home with and honor their families Dec. 26. Honoring veterans is something that should occur every day of the year, not on a single day outlined to do so. Veterans are the backbone of our great country; families are just as important, and spending much needed time with them is precious, just as precious as honoring Veterans.
