To the spouter from Avalon: To blame the Avalon Police Dept. for a bicycle rider disregarding the law and being struck by a car is absolutely wrong. The police are not there to "babysit" people. People need to take responsibility for their actions and the actions of their children. I work in Avalon and I often see officers stopping and issuing tickets to bicycles, which most of the time, the people being stopped think it is ridiculous. The only person to blame would be the person who broke the law, not the police. This is the problem with our country, it's always someone else's fault.
