Why is it that the police get great toys, good gear and new vehicles for the beach, while the beach patrol looks like it's stuck back in the 70's? Ratty old trucks with the bubble gum roof lights from 1950, crappy uniforms and falling apart equipment, including peeling, chipped rescue surf boards. It looks like a bad joke. Especially for a beach town, where visitors come to the beach. Have a little pride in the organization that keeps everyone safe, and for God's sake, invest some money into it to make it look like every other beach patrol in SJ.
