Wildwood / Mayfair - I came down to Wildwood to pay a tax bill recently. I was surprised to see how empty the city was in the winter. With out-of-state tags, I was shadowed by police cars watching my every move. The streets were empty except for a few public works vehicles cruising around town. Pacific Avenue had some mothers pushing grocery carts with young kids in tow. There were only two stores open for blocks. I entered city hall and was greeted warmly by the assistant receptionist. I noticed how happy the employees appeared. The clerk agreed with me. It had a close, family working relationship there.
