Wow. The Q&A for the school board candidates was incredibly lazy. One candidate couldn’t even be bothered to respond to the questions. Meanwhile, the school has fewer than 200 students and a $13 million budget, yet there was zero discussion about the obvious issue: is it financially sustainable to continue operating as a standalone school? Consolidation doesn’t mean giving up on the school. It means having an honest conversation about whether combining resources with another school system would provide better opportunities for students while protecting taxpayers. Wake up!
