Woodbine - The recent Herald story about Woodbine "Greening up the Brownfields" addresses the former Hat Factory site along with three other sites. The former factory site is adjacent to the borough's water plant and water supply wells. It is two blocks west of the current ice-making company which is across Monroe Ave from the borough's fresh water well. There were seven underground storage tanks on the Hat Factory site which leaked toluene into the groundwater. Anybody wonder about the water being used in the borough or used to make the ice?

Moderator's Note:
Unless you know something the reporter did not know ,here is what the article said ,"between 2000 and 2016 ,seven underground storage tanks that had leaked were discovered at the site.Since there were no records remaining after the fire ,the contents of the seven tanks were unknown."
