The electricity being generated today is powered by natural gas. This gas could be conserved if more coastal residents built more energy efficient homes with geothermal, heat pumps and solar. It’s a messy process to extract Natural gas, and involves polluting ground water and building pipelines. Someday we are going to run out of this resource because we squander it with decorative lanterns and burning for heat.
