A county police force has many merits. It can cover the entire county. It will eliminate redundant and unneeded supervisors. It will allow management to reassign officers to area's that need a stronger police presence. It will create standardized salaries and benefits that mirror pay scales of this area. Many more officers on the streets, since many high ranked officers no longer needed. It will vastly reduce property tax burdens on those who can least afford it. Some say it cannot be done. To quote Lincoln " WITH PUBLIC SENTIMENT , NOTHING CAN FAIL ; WITHOUT IT NOTHING CAN SUCCEED.
