Wildwood - You cannot compare Wildwood to our surrounding shore towns. As far as police and firefighter salaries, ranking officers, benefits, number of permanent employees, there is no comparison. We are unique. There are no limits in our budget and we want full time paid firemen in our firehouses. Just in case we may need them for a real fire. We may be a poor town but we still have high property taxes. Don't know why, but, as a renter, it sure feels safe to have all this protection around me.
