The Wildwoods have some great history of surfing and surfers.

Wildwood - The Wildwoods have some great history of surfing and surfers. For the younger ones surfing today; our first surf shop was next to the Apollo Restaurant on New Jersey Ave. It then moved to Pacific Ave. This was in the late 60s. We could 'shoot the pier' at the Wildwood Crest fishing pier in the 60s and 70s. We could surf under Hunt's Pier when they built the Golden Nugget ride. High tide came under the Boardwalk in North Wildwood. Many good surfers have, and still do, come from the Wildwoods!
