Why is Wildwood so poor, and taxes so high?

Wildwood - Why is Wildwood so poor, and taxes so high? We have been the dumping ground for so many years from all sorts of agencies and our county. Section 8, low-income housing, Sandman Towers, drug rehabs, drug dealers, a boarded-up downtown district, no jobs in winter, etc. Most of our residents are retired and foot the cost. Our police and firemen are the highest paid in the state. No matter how one compares us in the county, we are not Cape May or Stone Harbor. Give us a break this year and do not raise salaries again. Don't force the seniors out.
