Why does Wildwood's paid fire department respond to West Wildwoo

Wildwood - Why does Wildwood's paid fire department respond to West Wildwood and Wildwood Crest? If they want a paid department, then they should pay the high taxes that I do for that paid, full-time department. I have no problem with a mutual assistance among volunteer fire companies, but my paid department needs to stop responding to other municipalities.
