Is there a Boardwalk inspector in Wildwood?

Wildwood - Is there a Boardwalk inspector in Wildwood? According to the nice ladies at the Information Center, there are two inspectors, yet no one has ever seen or heard from them and judging by the current state of the Boardwalk they are doing a bum job. Dangerous broken signs with chains hanging down, rusty chains displaying towels flapping in the wind, boards wrapped with nails sticking out, collapsing ramps and illegal soliciting in the middle of the walk. I hope we are not paying these people for a job they are clearly not doing at all.
