If you both do your jobs, which are very different, you are vital to our society. If you are selfish enough to think you are irreplaceable, take a reality check. Public opinion is changing, perhaps for the worst, and for the wrong reasons, and we will have to deal with the consequences, but people honestly believe neither job is difficult. Times are going to get worse. When disasters happen, both services will step to the front while the critics run away.
