Wildwood - To the person saying Germany only gave us Hitler and Sauerkraut: First of all, without Germans there would not even be printed newspapers, as it was Johannes Gutenberg (a German) who invented the printing with movable type. In addition, among many other things, Germans invented the car (Gottlieb Daimler), ballistic missiles and played a great role in the development of rockets that made the moon landing possible (Werner Von Braun). You may have also heard of an artist called Beethoven, the German who, among other pieces, gave you the 'Moonlight Sonata.'
