I question the need to have all these surplus trucks, driving ai

Wildwood - I question the need to have all these surplus trucks, driving aimlessly around town, making waves which contribute to heartache and property damage. A call for service, I understand, but does it really make sense to expose the vehicles to this type of abuse? I understand the towns got them for nothing, but to unnecessarily expose the mechanics to salt water damage, that is just wrong. And who really needs to be rescued? When I see firemen carrying an individual who could walk on his own in ankle deep water.
