Wildwood - I looked at the songs Kate Smith sang for a show that was the norm for the time. It did not demean or insult anyone. She was not politically incorrect. We all ate Aunt Jemima pancakes and read "Little Black Sambo." I watched Kate Smith as a child every day at 5 p.m. and only remember positive programming. Ramar of the Jungle could have been called demeaning to Africans. Hollywood was demeaning to Native Americans. Bring Kate's positive vibes to Wildwood, and we can all sing "when the moon shines over the ocean" instead. If they won't sell us the statue, we will make our own. God bless America.
