Wildwood - I agree city employees should live within the city. However, it is not that easy. For all the talk about high salaries, recent contracts have greatly reduced the ability of employees to buy a home on the island. Starting salaries are low and remain relatively low for several years. Newly hired police are leaving certain island departments, transferring off shore for better pay. This is creating a costly "revolving door" situation.
