Could anyone explain how land purchased under Open Space in Wild

Wildwood - Could anyone explain how land purchased under Open Space in Wildwood is being named after someone? There is already a building bearing that name. Did that family contribute to the new place? Maybe the county should stop spending taxpayers' money on Open Space.
