Can someone tell my why the current chief got such a huge raise

Wildwood - Can someone tell my why the current chief got such a huge raise in his new contract? $162,000 plus an almost $30,000 health care package (which he pays nothing for after retirement) is obscene! A small town, which he has never lived in or paid taxes to, cannot afford this bloated salary. Guess that's why Commissioner Leonetti had to raise the police budget causing my taxes to go up.
