Wildwood - Another selfish spout about the Wildwood Fire Dept. said, "... Especially when volunteers can do the same thing. Put out fires and if need be call mutual aid." If a volunteer firefighter said this, it might be palatable, but I am sure this spouter would not get out of bed in sub-freezing temperature to battle a fire at someone else's house. And I am sure this guy would not spend dozens of hours of his own time just to get basic training. We need firefighters, either paid or volunteer. If he wants the volunteers to carry this load for him, sign up or hush up.
