The only new members who have joined are in their early 20s from other county's hoping to get a career position. Consolidation of volunteer companies is occurring. It is not helping by much. There are few career opportunities on the island. Paid fire wages start in low $30,000 and take 15 years to max pay. They can't afford to live here either. A lot of ideas, yet still few if any new members. Step up!
