Wildwood

The Wildwood commissioners plan to name part of the beach a "redevelopment zone" in order to skirt the public bidding process and grant long-term tax abatements to build a hotel for the convention center. This is rated a flood zone so the city, meaning Wildwood property owners, will probably also need to guarantee flood insurance for the building. We'll also likely need additional fire equipment for a high-rise. Just what we need, an over-sized hotel that's going to be empty nine months a year, subsidized by taxpayers. Did we learn nothing from subsidizing AC casinos?
