A very pro-Obama spouter mentioned that under this president, "... the military is strong..." and he is completely wrong. Driven by the Budget Control Act of 2011 and ongoing budget cuts, reductions, which began in October, affecting nearly every Army installation in the continental United States and overseas, the Army will shrink two brigade combat teams and convert at least one more as it cuts 40,000 soldiers. I guess we failed to learn our lessons from the recent wars, which relied far too heavily on Guard and Reserve Units and frequent, prolonged deployments of active duty personnel.
