Summer visitors always write that our city should hire more cops to fight the crime here. Then they visit for two weeks and enjoy our free beach, free concerts, etc. So who pays for all this free stuff? The taxpayers do. We, folks who are told if you don't like it here, then move elsewhere. We can't get a fair price for our house. Or move across the street to Cresse Ave. where the taxes are lower. We have the highest paid PD for any city a mile long and fewer than 3,500 residents. It's time to have beach tags and have everyone share the cost. Beach supervisors should earn their pay.
