Someone made a silly, liberal comment online about the police, expecting that they should have specific permission before they go into a house via an unsecured door. Then she would be one of the first to comment that police didn't take any action when someone's life or property was at risk. "Exigent circumstances" allow police to make unauthorized entries like that. Thankfully they have captured many burglars and worse criminals by diligently investigating unsecured properties presumed to be vacant. The police did an excellent job and need praise, not criticism.
