Wildwood / Philadelphia - There seems to be an unending tirade against career firefighters in Wildwood. I don't live or work there, but I find some of the anti-firefighter spouts ridiculous... "Again where are the FD runs? There are several contract EMS company's operating now in NJ. We do not need 17 grossly-overpaid ambulance techs in Wildwood alone. Privatize EMS island-wide and save a fortune." Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid pay for almost every ambulance call. EMS is profitable for almost all FDs nationwide. And why should either the PD or the FD feel obliged to publish activity reports in the news, does FDNY?
