People continue to expect volunteers to carry the fire-fighting load in Wildwood, and some have taken to countering my spouts, assuming I am a Wildwood fireman. Well, as great as they are, I have never been one. It is simple, we need firefighters and to expect your neighbors to do it free for you is lazy and selfish. There are not enough volunteers to carry the load. Either volunteer yourself or be prepared to pay the tax for career firefighters. Being a volunteer in today's world is too time consuming for most, average people. We can't get by without a fire service.
